Recycling

  • Numbers on the bottom of containers 1-9 meaning to let you know what kind of plastic bottles  let you know the type of plastic they’re made of. The easiest to recycle are numbers 1 and 2. But just because plastic has a number does not  mean it  can be tossed into your blue bin.

Recycling is the process  of converting waste materials into reusable objects.

-More and more today’s products are being manufactured with recycling content.

-common household item that contain recycle materials include the following

-newspaper/paper towel

-aluminum, plastic  and glass soft drink container

-steel cans

-plastic laundry detergent

Benefits of recycle-Save energy and Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators

  • Reduce

Reduce means using less of something. Reducing the use of plastic is important because plastic production requires a tremendous amount of energy and resources. This causes carbon emissions and contributes to global warming.

About 60% is discarded in landfills and oceans. There, it stays for thousands of years, transforming into microplastic, leaching into our water supplies and food.

  • Great Ocean Garbage Patch. There are 5 great garbage patches everywhere around the world. They are called, North Atlantic Gyre, the South Atlantic Gyre, the North Pacific Gyre, the South Pacific Gyre, and the Indian Ocean Gyre. They are made from people that did not throw them in the big and then the wind and current blows it into the water as time goes by the patch gets larger. All of this Garbage is very toxicing ot the marine animals and coral.Plastic & the Great Pacific Garbage Patch — The Conscious Challenge
