Garbage

My group was? reuse reduce recycle

my group strengths were? Team work

if we did this again my group needs to be better at? finishing the work

reflecting on myself I was? I need to speak louder and slower

About my topic I learnt? I learned about the five great garbage patch

I think the best group was? fines group

Recycling

  • Numbers on the bottom of containers 1-9 meaning to let you know what kind of plastic bottles  let you know the type of plastic they’re made of. The easiest to recycle are numbers 1 and 2. But just because plastic has a number does not  mean it  can be tossed into your blue bin.

Recycling is the process  of converting waste materials into reusable objects.

-More and more today’s products are being manufactured with recycling content.

-common household item that contain recycle materials include the following

-newspaper/paper towel

-aluminum, plastic  and glass soft drink container

-steel cans

-plastic laundry detergent

Benefits of recycle-Save energy and Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators

  • Reduce

Reduce means using less of something. Reducing the use of plastic is important because plastic production requires a tremendous amount of energy and resources. This causes carbon emissions and contributes to global warming.

About 60% is discarded in landfills and oceans. There, it stays for thousands of years, transforming into microplastic, leaching into our water supplies and food.

  • Great Ocean Garbage Patch. There are 5 great garbage patches everywhere around the world. They are called, North Atlantic Gyre, the South Atlantic Gyre, the North Pacific Gyre, the South Pacific Gyre, and the Indian Ocean Gyre. They are made from people that did not throw them in the big and then the wind and current blows it into the water as time goes by the patch gets larger. All of this Garbage is very toxicing ot the marine animals and coral.Plastic & the Great Pacific Garbage Patch — The Conscious Challenge

groblm warming

Climate change is the biggest challenge of our lifetime. Centuries of pollution & deforestation have led to global warming, rising seas, and a plethora of natural disasters. What is it, what can we do to fix it?

One measurable aspect of cc is global warming. Greenhouse gases are Carbon Dioxide. Methane. Nitrous Oxide. Fluorinated Gases made from factories. car, and from animals that are from the farm, caw is the main problem the fart from makes Methane. Which rises into the hemispheres and it traps in heat from the sun, all those gases make the earth warm ice sheet on the northern and southern hemispheres are melting and the results of it are that the sea level is rising.

Another devastating component of climate change is deforestation. Deforestation is when forests are obliterated, causing less produced oxygen and less carbon dioxide is absorbed. This excess carbon dioxide is then released into the atmosphere contributing to the greenhouse effect. A famous example of deforestation is the culling of trees in the Amazon forest. The Amazon rainforest is the world, home to 390 billion trees. People are cutting native rainforests to plant palm oil and other food sources. The immediate result of this is that animal's habitat is destroyed. The plight of the orangutang is known around the world. They are a symbol of fighting against climate change. The longer-term effect is that certain species have become endangered and even extinct. Damage to the land caused by agriculture is often permanent.

Saving the rainforests would help minimize the long-term impact of global warming.

A third factor contributing to climate change in agriculture. Agriculture is farming with animals. Cows produce a lot of methane through farting and belching which is a greenhouse gas. Agriculture requires huge amounts of land which could be used for forests/rainforests and as habitats for native species. Another damaging part of agriculture is the damage done to local waterways (E.g. rivers and streams) through the fecal matter and urine of those animals. The water gets polluted, also fish who live there die. In New Zealand, there are 26.6 million sheep and 10.1 million cattle. If people ate less meat, we wouldn’t need so much land for agriculture and we wouldn’t be damaging local waterways as well.

Global warming is causing rising gas through the meeting of Antarctica and the Artie. The largest concentration of ice on earth is in the arctic Northern hemipenes and Antarctica. These places have glaciers and ice sheet which hold an extremely large amount of water. Ice sheets are massive flat platforms that move on ice, glaciers form overland. Solar energy and greenhouse gasses increased

Many actions can be taken to reduce the impact of climate change. Some of these can be done by individual people, such as not using plastic bags, putting your rubbish in the bin, and recycling any plastics you use. Actions that every community should take are to have lots of rubbish bins available, plant lots of trees and native bushland, use wind farms and solar panels where you can. At a national level, actions New Zealand can take are planting more trees, conservation programs for native species, introducing laws and policies that limit overfishing, and monitors the deforestation of native timbers. Both individuals and countries should be responsible for the rubbish they let into their oceans and waterways. Every country should actively be trying to increase of bees they have in their land. The biggest would be global, companies stopped burning fossil fuels as this would minimize the greenhouse gases that are entering the atmosphere.

One scientific study found that only 100 companies are responsible for 71% of the world's carbon emissions. There are four petrol companies (ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, and Chevron) that are the highest emitters in the world. Another thing consumers can look for is what products they buy - some products use palm oil which is the reason for a lot of deforestation. People should buy palm oil-free products. There are lots of ways both individuals, groups, and governments can make a difference in reducing climate change.

In conclusion, climate change is a terrible problem that is the #1 concern facing our planet. If we do not take the actions discussed, within a century our planet will have irreversible damage, and our children and grandchildren will not enjoy the world in the way we did. It is up to every person to make a change.

I saw a very cool thing under the microscope like a fly leg. It has so much hair on it and it has two claws that are very pointy and sharp. It was also fun and scary at the same time.

On the boat was Lito, her grandpa, her mum who was pregnant, Ivan, luis he is a cop, luis’s girlfriend and seora castillo. But then he got caught by the police so the police shot at them, when they shot it hit the boat and it made holes so they covered it up with their sock. There were some problems like a hurricane and a cargo ship came and made a big wave and pushed them back. They landed at the wrong place and the tourist saw that the mum was pregnant and threw chips, water and pills. So they went off again on the way there Ivan and Isabel was pedalling and then a shark ate Ivan and Isabel jumped back in the boat and Luis shot the shark then more sharks came because of the blood. But then the sharks just left so they carried on then when they got there a coast guard saw them but if the coast guard catches them they will get sent back but if they make it they got to stay, that is called wet foot and dry foot but the coast guard was going to catch them but then Lito sacrificed himself by jumping out the boat and getting caught by the coast guard so they can make before they got to the land the baby was born and they named it after the grandma that drowned.

Mamoud’s friend got killed from a falling bomb from the sky, which left Mahmoud sad and it was made clear that Mamoud’s teacher didn’t like him. One day him and his family packed up to go to Germany but during their travels they were arrested. Mamoud and his family were put into jail in Austria for illegally crossing the border but were released roughly after a year. When the family were released then carried on in their travels eventually landing in Germany. Based on the story Mamoud and his family were living with an old elderly lady.

All about cell

For the cell work that I learned was very important it tells me about the different organizers that are inside of animals and plant cells, the most inportent organizer. In a plants and animals, Cell like nucleus the most important part of a cell it is the brain of the cell, vacuole, mitochondria, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum but in the animals and plant may have the same cell but it is a little different.
